from 519 reviewsIn Nov 2025 I bought 100' of the Thermosoft roof/gutter heater cable system, which I installed myself with my son's help. I am 79 and he did not want me to be on the ladder. My wife and I bought our home in Lansing, Michigan in the summer of 2017. We suffered thru 8 winters where the eave troughs over our front porch and sidewalk developed lots of ice sickles that dripped to the concrete porch and sidewalk, covering them with thick hard ice which was a dangerous slip and fall hazard. After the 2024-25 winter I vowed to solve this problem. I first determined that the eave troughs were installed with the proper slope, that they were not plugged with debris, and that they did not leak. Then I researched possible solutions and found the Thermosoft Roof Heater cable system, and several other less expensive products. After much consideration I decided to buy the Thermosoft product because I wanted a high-quality low maintenance system that would do the job.
For the installation, we followed the instructions and guides provided by Thermosoft...we took our time and did it right. We ran the cables in upside-down V formation over about 30 feet of roof, inside 30 feet of gutters and down 12 feet of downspout. I turned on the system in late November 2025 before our first snowfall ...6 inches plus! I just read a weather report that our 2025-26 winter in Lansing, MI so far has been one of the worst in recent years with long streaks of below average temperature, above average snowfall, and a few periods of unusually high temperature. Plenty of opportunity to match the ice build-up problems we experienced in prior years.
After 2 1/2 months of using the Thermosoft system, I am extremely pleased to tell you that the roof/gutter ice build-up of past winters and ice on our front porch and sidewalk was completely eliminated this winter! Thank You!!! And I especially like the convenient on/off switch that lets me turn off the system when not needed. I highly recommend the Thermosoft product! I suggest prospective purchasers to do so before the cold weather arrives next Fall.

I've used the customer support chat twice and the customer service personnel are always prompt and answer the questions I have. They have made selecting and planning my heated floor installation run more smoothly.
Dan is the best. He was/ is always available when I need him. He call to check to make sure everything is working good.. still working out some things but he is still helping.. which is great because we were blind going into this radiant heat project..

I was stuck in an installation and reached out to my account manager David Kaempf who immediately transferred me to Tech Support. Unfortunately I got the voice mail. and I tried calling back. No sooner did I could scroll through my phone, I got a message from Dan Gutierrez from Tech Support. I called him and he walked me through and troubleshoot my my problem. He made me feel like I was part of the team AND THAT SAVED THE DAY. Big kudos guys, now I no why I've been a member since 2008!

I've installed ThermoSoft products under both a marble tile floor and an engineered wood floor within my home over the last two years and am very satisfied with both results. The planning and ordering process is easy and straightforward thanks to an well designed website containing all the needed information combined with live technical consultants. The post installation support is excellent, with Dan Gutierrez addressing some initial technical questions, then following up for two weeks to ensure the product was working to my expectations. It is, and now we are enjoying the comfort of heated bathroom floors during the cold winter months.
